CNC Programmer
What you're going to do
The CNC Programmer (f/m/x) is responsible for creating, testing, and optimizing the programs that control CNC machines so parts are produced accurately, efficiently, and safely. In practical terms, they turn drawings into machine instructions and in this case, finished products.
Your skill & knowledge
Programming:
- Thinking about strategies: determining the best approach for a part so it can be produced efficiently (quickly) and safely.
- Creating CNC programs within Fusion.
- Knowing and assigning the correct speeds and feeds to ensure safe machining; chips should break cleanly, avoiding clogs, etc.
- Being aware of all tool possibilities.
On the shop floor:
- Ensuring all machines are running, understanding that downtime equals lost money.
- Setting up and loading machines (mounting tools correctly).
- Communicating with management so everyone is informed.
- Keeping the workspace tidy and identifying and implementing possible improvements.
- Performing systematic minor maintenance (checking oil levels).
- Checking parameters:
- Measuring workpieces and adjusting if necessary.
- Quality control.
- Checking coolant ratios to ensure optimal performance.
