Industrial Maintenance Technician
What you're going to do
Mechanical and electrical repairs:
- Resolve urgent malfunctions reported by self, control room, or shift supervisor.
- Analyze issues using schematics or SCADA systems to identify causes and perform necessary repairs.
Areas of repair include:
- Conveyor belts, chain and screw conveyors
- Dust extractors and filters
- Mechanical flow diverters
- Loading/unloading equipment (e.g., cranes, pneumatic unloaders, loading towers)
- Weighing bunkers
- Tasks include disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly as required.
- Objective: Quick, high-quality troubleshooting to ensure operations remain unaffected.
Facility and installation inspections:
Conduct regular checks on critical equipment such as:
- Conveyor belts
- Mechanical flow diverters
- Dust filters, grids, and others as needed
- Perform minor installation repairs.
- Objective: Follow up on scheduled maintenance and report larger maintenance requirements.
Operational support:
- Assist operations with the management of automated bridge scrapers, trippers, and other tools.
- Perform additional support tasks such as cleaning magnets.
- Objective: Maintain continuity in operational activities.
Your skill & knowledge
- Prior technical education.
- Technical or engineering background preferred (Mechanical and/or Electrical).
- Experience with conveyor belts, chain and screw conveyors.
- Familiarity with applicable work procedures and instructions.
- Ability to understand and follow technical manuals.
- Prior experience with maintenance management systems, such as Ultimo, is a plus.
- Proficiency in English.
- A willingness to learn Dutch for workplace communication.
- Competency with maintenance software, especially Ultimo.
- Certifications, licenses, and training:
(These qualifications can be obtained on-site if not already held)- Electrical Safety (BA5) – Authorized level for working with and around electrical installations.
- VCA Operative – Safety, Health, and Environment Checklist for Contractors.
- Forklift Operator – Certified for safe operation of forklifts.
- AWP Driver – Certified to operate aerial work platforms.
- Lifting Techniques – Knowledge and certification in safe lifting practices.
- Driver’s License B – Standard car driving license.
- First Aid Certificate – Basic first aid training.
- Small Fire Extinguisher Certification – Training in the use of small fire extinguishers.
