Maintenance Technician & Supervisor
What you're going to do
- First point of contact for technical problems in production (mechanical and electrical).
- Assesses the severity of the intervention and ensure the quickest possible resolution to minimize downtime.
- Checks frequently occurring interventions and propose improvements to the technical manager to prevent these interventions.
- For larger interventions or repairs, the technician seeks the help of an external maintenance team with whom contractual agreements exist.
- Coordinates the maintenance tasks: plan the tasks to be performed, assign them to the executing maintenance technician in case of external repair or maintenance, explain the task, monitor the work, and check the final result.
- Performs common and recurring maintenance tasks independently.
- Ensures the implementation of the preventive maintenance plan, analyse the feedback, and coordinate the resulting maintenance tasks.
- Be reachable by phone for production staff during production hours. If necessary, he/she can provide support, either internally or through external companies.
- The technician reports the tasks performed, both corrective and preventive, to the technical manager daily.
- Interventions that result in at least 1 hour of downtime are reported immediately.
- All interventions are summarized and reported at the end of the day, either via email or a written report, to the technical manager.
- The technician reports the completed preventive maintenance tasks weekly to the technical manager by submitting the completed preventive maintenance sheets.
- The technician updates the status of completed maintenance tasks in the task sheet and accurately and fully adds any tasks to be performed.
- The technician creates the weekly planning sheet and posts it so that the maintenance technicians are well informed about their tasks.
- Leadership Assertiveness: A natural leader who takes initiative, delegates effectively, and is comfortable holding team members accountable.
- Strategic Thinking: The ability to balance immediate production pressure with the long-term necessity of machine maintenance.
- "Stop-or-Go" Authority: Assess the severity of technical issues and take the initiative to halt machines when necessary to prevent major breakdowns or safety risks.
- Proactive Strategy: Own the preventive maintenance plan. Analyze feedback to identify parts reaching their wear limit and replace them before failure occurs.
- Troubleshooting: Serve as the first point of contact for mechanical and electrical problems. Perform recurring maintenance tasks independently while ensuring the quickest possible resolution to minimize downtime.
