Mechanic
What you're going to do
To perform corrective and preventive maintenance and construction tasks, primarily mechanical and to a limited extent electrical, according to schedules and fault reports. The goal is to ensure the effective availability of installations and equipment and to meet quality and environmental regulations.
Responsibilities of the role:
- Understanding work orders, technical specifications, drawings, schematics, manuals.
- Assessing the issue or maintenance task (diagnosis, approach, tools, and safety measures); consulting with Mechanic A, supervisor, or production manager for complex issues or tasks.
- Ensuring and verifying compliance with safety, permits, and alignment requirements.
- Performing welding tasks.
- (Dis)assembling, repairing, overhauling, and replacing equipment/components, often after consulting Mechanic A and/or supervisor.
- Fabricating construction and machine parts in the workshop.
- Modifying, adjusting, and testing installations.
- Transferring installations to production and functionally supporting operators.
- Helping to keep technical documentation up-to-date.
- Completing additional records.
- Collaborate with clients/requestors regarding diagnosis, maintenance execution, task completion, securing, and handing over installations.
- Performing inspections:
- Inspecting the maintenance condition of installations and equipment, identifying and anticipating irregularities.
- Taking measures to prevent potential production loss, equipment damage, or environmental and safety risks as needed.
- Reporting findings.
- Performing function-related administration and reporting:
- Accounting for materials and parts used.
- Ordering and submitting parts for repair according to procedure.
- Logging work hours and completed tasks.
Your skill & knowledge
- Bitten by technology and already have prior education within a technical field.
- Already have experience within the (heavy) manufacturing industry = must!!
- Likes to get hands dirty.
- Welding experience to perform welding tasks.
- Can work independently and have a high sense of responsibility.
- Have to be able to keep an overview of the factory and products.
- Be able to search for and solve faults/malfunctions.
- Operate equipment and work with tools to resolve issues.
- Draw sketches as needed.
- Operate machining equipment (e.g., drilling, milling, turning) in the workshop.
- Precision is required to ensure safety.
- Physical exertion when moving and handling installation parts.
- Forced positions occasionally required during inspections and when working in hard-to-reach areas.
- Exposure to noise, dust, and heat (e.g., from drying installations or ovens).
- Actively participate in a dynamic safety policy within the department.
