Mechanical maintenance operator (m/x/f)
What you're going to do
This company is a Belgian company. The company was created from an amalgamation of leading companies specialized in the development of sports nutrition, dietary nutrition and health nutrition.
Growing consumer awareness about the influence of nutrition on health and sports performance and the availability of new concepts are constantly changing the demand for supplements and health nutrition. At this company, all these lines come together.
Details of the role:
The Mechanical Maintenance Operator is responsible for the production lines on a technical level with expertise in adjusting the machines on the line. The technician also takes care of the installations and ensures that the line can run optimally. He/she also installs and controls automated autonomous installations and industrial systems and performs preventive or corrective maintenance on them.
They are looking for Mechanical Technicians for 2 types of lines:
1.Powder lines: packaging of powders such as: protein powder, shakes, whey shakes and diet shakes.
2.Capsule lines: filling and packaging of capsules such as supplements and vitamins in capsules.
50% adjustment problems, 40% mechanical problems, 10% electrical problems.
Responsibilities of the role:
•Electrical and mechanical repair of both manual, semi-automatic and automatic production lines.
•Conversion of production lines to other products.
•50% adjustment problems, 40% mechanical problems, 10% electrical problems.
•Supporting the production lines with the necessary expertise in terms of adjusting installations such as the label machine, sealing machine, sleeve line (steam tunnel and sleeve applicator), neck sleeve applicator, etc.
•Responsible for the parameter management of the production lines for the equipment on the line.
•Looks ahead and prepares the lines where possible to save time when changing the line/machine to another reference. (E.g. place other color inkjet, neck sleeve applicator, top label applicator, cap sealer, startup sleeve line, ...) This in consultation with the Team Leader.
•Adjusts the machines and checks their operation.
•Locates a malfunction in the installation and determines its technical solution and repair conditions.
•Organizes, plans and follows up preventive and corrective maintenance work.
•Ensures that the machines/lines remain in good condition and receive necessary maintenance, together with the technical department and also operators of the line.
•Investigates causes of failure and provides feedback on them.

Your skill & knowledge
Background/experience:
•Higher education with experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance/repair.
•Experience with machine adjustments and setup.
•Expérience in the food industry = must have !
•Experience with bearings, belts, conveyors, sensors, motors, automation,…
•Hydraulic en pneumatic knowledge.
•Good technical understanding and quickly builds experience in terms of setting up, maintaining and working with machines.
•Problem solving and innovation skills: analytically inclined and is fluent with new installations.
•Can work independently and easily sees technical solutions or improvements.
•Notices deviations, malfunctions or need for maintenance.
•Works according to the applicable standards in terms of safety, hygiene.
•Stress-resistant and decisive.
