What you're going to do

The Mechanical Maintenance Planner is responsible for preparing, planning, and coordinating mechanical maintenance activities while maintaining a strong hands-on presence on the production floor and working closely with technicians. The role requires a very strong mechanical background and previous experience as a Mechanical Maintenance Planner or Work Preparation Engineer, as practical field experience is essential.

Responsibilities of the role: 

  • Prepare and plan preventive and scheduled mechanical maintenance activities.
  • Schedule maintenance work safely and efficiently, prepare work permits, and define the correct sequence of tasks.
  • Ensure the timely availability of materials, spare parts, and contractors in coordination with the purchasing and warehouse departments.
  • Develop weekly maintenance schedules and shutdown plans together with the Maintenance Manager.
  • Monitor work orders, provide feedback, register completed activities, and ensure accurate administrative closure.
  • Manage maintenance administration in SAP PM/MM.
  • Experience with SAP is an advantage, but experience with other maintenance or ERP systems is also welcomed as SAP can be learned.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase maintenance efficiency, equipment reliability, and safety.
  • Act as backup for the Maintenance Manager when required.

Your skill & knowledge

  • Very strong mechanical background is essential.
  • Previous experience as a Mechanical Maintenance Planner / Work Preparation Engineer is mandatory.
  • Hands-on professional who enjoys working on the production floor alongside technicians and has practical field experience.
  • Able to combine technical expertise with planning, administrative and organizational skills.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical maintenance, equipment, and repair techniques.
  • Experience in an industrial production environment is required.
  • Industry background is flexible. Experience in concrete, brick, or building materials is not required. Candidates from other manufacturing or industrial sectors are welcome, provided they have an excellent mechanical background.
  • Experience with SAP PM/MM is an advantage. Candidates familiar with other maintenance management or ERP systems are encouraged to apply.
  • Well-organized, proactive, and capable of setting priorities while maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with technicians, supervisors, and other departments.
