What you're going to do

Our Client fabricates mostly large pressure vessels (reactors, columns) with diameters 5 to 10 m and thickness 50 to 145mm. Final vessel weight up to 900ton. The MIG/MAG Welder is responsible for butt welding of heavy plates (50-145mm) in carbon steel. All welds are 100% RT or UT examined.

Your skill & knowledge

-Welding root passes of longitudinal & circular seams (butt weld) in large cylinders, including preheating. Mostly in flat or horizontal position, sometimes in “all” positions.
-Welding root passes and filling of nozzle implant in large cylinders and heads, including preheating.
-Grinding between weld layers, back grinding and back gouging.
-Grinding flat of seams.
-Fillet welds of clips, saddles etc. in all positions.

Educations

-Good level of English language.
-Understanding and interpretation of weld procedures.
-Experience with Mig/Mag (GMAW/FCAW) plate welding of carbon steel (plate thickness 40mm and above), with proven UT/RT results, in different positions.
-Working in 2 or 3 shift system
-No fear of working on heights.
-Ability to work with overhead cranes, fork lift and boom lift.
-Experience with Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) or Tig welding (GTAW) is a plus.
-The welder will have to perform qualification tests (WPQ) for qualification by Coek’s Welding Engineer. (ASME code)
